 Bob Kolvoord is a Professor of Integrated Science and Technology and Co-Director of the JMU Center for STEM Education and Outreach. He received his Ph.D. from Cornell University in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics.  His research interests include geospatial tools and the development of geospatial thinking, professional development of K-12 teachers, and recruitment and retention of students in STEM disciplines. Bob sponsored several MRI workshops on motivational planning for STEM faculty during 2009-10 through the Bridging the Valley project, funded by  the National Science Foundation.
